The last delegates meeting before the Northwest Regional OCTAfest was
held on May 10 at the Fremont Community Theatre, site of the festival.
A poll of the delegates determined that there could be as many as 13 excerpts
presented. Sounds like a lot of good theatre for the weekend of June 6,
7 & 8!! Your delegate, unfortunately, was not able to join those who
said, “Yes, we are bringing an excerpt and it will be _______.”
Oh well, there’s always next year. After a brief meeting, those
delegates who were bringing excerpts, toured the facility in order to
get their bearings prior to Regionals. Keep an eye out for your Northwest
Notes for the whole roster. Now tell me, where else can one see appoximately
6.5 hours of live theatre, with critiques (which are very entertaining
and informative) for $25?
Calling All Candidates
Have you ever considered running for the OCTA board? This year at state
conference, delegates will be electing seven members to the OCTA board:
five 3-year positions, one 2-year postion and one 1-year position (to
complete unexpired terms). We need dedicated, enthusiastic people with
great ideas. That means YOU! Yes, as with all board positions, there is
work involved. But serving on the OCTA board provides some great friendships
and an opportunity to network with theatre folks from all over the state.
If you are interested in running or would like more information, contact
nominations chair Sue Rapier at 614-485-0556 or at srapier@columbus.rr.com.
