| Dear God-Why Do You Always Make the Sky Blue and the
Grass Green? |
| Are Those the Only Colors You Have? This is just one
of the many questions children have wondered and asked God about over the
years. We, as adults, smile at the innocence in those childish wonders,
but maybe we have some of the same thoughts, or remember a time when we
did.
Five young people will bring the beloved children's book, Children's Letters to God, to life when they take the stage in March to perform a new musical to community theatre. Both Jessanna Buschur and Jenna Nofziger have been involved in previous ACT productions, but three newcomers to the stage, Jacqueline Marshall, Christopher Matthews and Jacob Nofziger are fitting right into being at ease on the stage. All five kids have great singing ability and are getting into their characters early on in developing the play. As an introduction to the performance, there will be 30 minutes of music and choreography by a special children's praise choir. The praise choir includes the five main cast members and Amy Christman, Jenna Croft, Rachel Dockter, Sarah Evers, Kate Friesen, Josh Lyberg, Abby Short and Justin Thatcher. The praise choir will also join in on a couple of the numbers in the play. This show would be a great play to bring your church groups to. It has a great message, is very entertaining, and ACT offers discounts to groups of 10 or more. Children's Letters to God is directed by Melanie Nagel and Teresa VanSickle, and is produced with special arrangement through the authors, Stuart Hample, David Evans and Douglas J. Cohen. Shows on March 7, 8, 14 and 15 begin at 8:00 p.m., and March 9 and 16 at 2:30 p.m.. Dinner theatres will be available for the two Saturday evening shows, and there will be an opening night premier party following the performance for anyone in attendance.
