Traditions
do go on. At the end of each show that ACT does, there comes a time to
tear down the set, put all of the props and costumes away, and put another
show to rest in the archives of ACT’s history. And so it was with
Fiddler. Immediately following the final production, nearly the entire
cast and family members remained at Archbold High School to tear apart
Tevye’s home, the well, the cheese rack, the houses, train station
and tailor shop of Anatevka. It’s amazing how quickly it all comes
apart when you have many people helping out.
Fiddler on the Roof is just a memory in all of our minds, but one which
so many people can be proud to say they were a part of. Everyone from
cast to stage crew to orchestra to production crew to the many people
who helped with sewing, makeup, tickets, pictures and painting of set.
Did I forget anyone? Probably. Please don’t be offended if I forgot
to mention the job that each one of you did to be a part of this production.
As you can see it takes many, many people to pull it all together.
But the most important people who keep ACT alive are the patrons who come
and see our productions and pass the word on to others. Without you purchasing
tickets, and bringing your family, friends and neighbors to our productions,
ACT would not be able to put on the quality theatre productions that continue
to be the norm rather than the exception. You are the people who help
keep ACT a tradition of great theatre in small-town Archbold, Ohio.
Traditions, traditions.......without our traditions our lives would be
as shaky as . . . as a fiddler on the roof.
