Wow! What a show! We are very proud of the kids for doing such a splendid
job with "Children's Letters to God". It was extremely difficult
music, but absolutely wonderful. I had several people tell me they wished
there were an adult version to the show. I hope you all had the
opportunity to enjoy this ground- breaking event. It was truly an honor
for ACT to be given an opportunity to premiere this show. Yes, we were
indeed the first community theatre in the WORLD to be given this
opportunity. I would recommend the show highly to anyone. Thanks to
Melanie Nagel and Teresa Van Sickle and all the parents and production
people who did such a fine job pulling it off!
At the board of trustees meeting held January 28th, Fairy Riter was elected to fill the vacancy left by Michelle Johnson as Vice President of Production. This is probably one of the most difficult positions with ACT, so she will need all the support we can give here. "Fiddler on the Roof" is quickly approaching, and we'll need all the help we can get behind the scenes. We will need some one to head up set decoration, helping to paint set, build set, sew costumes, sell tickets etc. If you would be willing to help in any way, please give Fairy a call and offer a helping hand. I would like to leave you all with something to think about. Over the past few months we have all dealt with the crisis in Iraq in our own ways. Some people prefer to ignore it, while others lay awake at night worrying about it. Personally, it has made me realize how fortunate we are. We have been given the luxury of living in this wonderful nation where we take so much for granted. Community theatre is one of those luxuries. It is something we could all survive without, but it adds so much to our community and to those lives it touches it is almost a miracle. Let us all stand together as a community, as one nation, under God. I believe this is the only way our future generations will be able to enjoy the same luxuries that we do today. Let us not throw away the inheritance that our forefathers fought so hard to obtain for us. God Bless the USA. |
