Auditions for Anne of Green Gables will be held July 30th from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., July 31st from 10:00 a.m.– 12:00 noon and Aug 2nd and 3rd from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Giffey Hall in Ridgeville Corners. No preparation is required. You will be asked to read from the script. We are looking for adults and chil-dren, ages 5 on up. There are many roles to fill. This would be a great show for full families to get involved in. We also need five stage hands that will move set pieces and props while the show is going on. If the whole family doesn’t want to be on stage, part of the family could be in the pro-duction, and the other members help with crew. All are welcome!!
This story begins when elderly Marilla Cuthbert and her shy brother, Matthew, decide to adopt an orphan to help with farm work. They expect a boy to arrive at the train station, but instead, a talkative, imaginative girl with fiery red hair and a taste for romance shows up – Anne (with an E) Shirley. "What use will she be to them?" asks reserved Marilla. But, tender-hearted Matthew feels they might be of some use to Anne. It turns out that all three are much more than useful to one another – they’re as vital as breathing.
